Choosing our Theme and Motif.

Okay. We got the church and reception venue booked. Now we have to decide what theme we would like on our big day. Even before engagement, during our sweet talks and late night conversations, h2b and I have agreed to go GREEN during our wedding day. Apple Green to be exact and a touch of beige. But as I spent more days on the internet reading blogs, wedding inspirations, instagram posts..It somehow changed my mind. I know right? So fickle.  I'm now torn between our first choice and some turquoise, mint with some carnation pink accents. Hayyy ewan! haha. PASTEL! I like how fresh and simple it looks, while for some, pastel is too pale. And the wedding needs more bright colors to represent happiness and celebration. Hmmm,, good point. Anyway, We have all the time in the world to decide on the best color palette combos. So I continued my research and pick the best swatches my eyes adore.

Some websites for inspirations:

The perfect palette
Color Lovers

We came up with these swatches:

H2b prefers option 4, while I like 5 better. Both our moms picked 3. I'm thinking of how would we incorporate these colors with our chosen theme-- ENCHANTED WHIMSICAL :)) It's gonna be an outdoor wedding since the pavilions can only accomodate 100 persons. And when we created our guest list we are already at 160! Oh em. What to do. We have to consider the budget as well. I'm so happy with our chosen theme, I would have the chance to do more DIYs. yey!

Church and Reception Venue- BOOKED!

Woah! Booking the church made me realize "eto na talaga!!" I'm getting married soooon. our first choice was November this year but I am kinda hesitant about the possible thunderstorms and I think (well, it really is) late na. It's now May and 6 months is never gonna be good enough for preps. Since this is a once in a life-time experience, I want to bring together the best ideas (doesnt have to be expensive, still have to consider budget) in planning the biggest event of our lives.

Our next choice is February, h2b wants a date with the no. "8" in it, and it should fall on a weekend. hahaha. Booom! Feb28 is a Saturday. Great!

After visiting the church with my in-laws, we decided that this is really the church for us. So we came back, that time, with my parents naman. From the last visit we were told,t heir office is closed on Fridays and Saturdays. So we decided to go on a sunday. Unfortunately, wala din silang pasok!. The guards said Sunday is an automatic off, that's why they only say NO TRANSACTIONS FRI-SAT on their board. (confusing right?kaloka) Well, since we really are eager to book na, we went back the following day.

Cherry, the one who does the booking in their office showed us their calendars. Their almost fully booked this year. November is also booked already, so scratched that off. February 28, as i was browsing i was telling my self, sana available pa, sana available pa. Then I found there was already a pencil booking! Why did I not do that ahead of time. And whoever this person is booked (pencil) all the Saturdays of February! UGh! What was she thinking. Our next option is March 28, a month later than the original date but that's better than trying to find another church.

Cherry said, the person who booked Feb 28 hasnt made downpayments yet, and they are to confirm their booking the following day. I asked her If we can make payments already then she can booked Feb 28 for us (incase the pencil booking does not pull through) or March 28, if the first one isnt available. We made the payment and she provided us a contract, and an OR. We will just call to confirm the final date tomorrow.Since we have no landline na. I wasnt able to call the church. I was also busy with work and summer so I just let the days passed. Had my mother call them yesterday morning and she confirmed Feb 28 is reserved for us! Yey!
